This photo was taken during the 2009 Toer de Geuze at the geuze blender Hanssens Artisanaal in Dworp, Belgium. The large barrel is a so called “foeder” that was made to blend lambics. The small opening at the bottom allowed a person to climb into the barrel to thoroughly clean it. During the war this large barrel was used to hide refugees!
